Online ad revenue: How much does the Drudge Report make off of ads every year?
By
I ask because I own a few web-sites and am trying to understand the revenue potential of ads on a popular site. I think I heard drudge (web ads) make only a couple hundred k a year, but I find that hard to believe. This is the 2nd time asking this question; the only response I got seemed to be political in nature. This question is about website-ad revenue.

Really the most important thing that determines how much you can make off of web ads, is the type of niche market your website captures. If you have a wide variety of users who might want a lot of different things, you’ll have to lower you prices in order to make quite a few different advertisers interested.
If you have a small precise market, advertisers will pay top dollar to get an add on your website, just because they know your users want what they offer.
I can’t say anything as far as pricing because I’m not sure even myself. I read somewhere they most website charge monthly based on an equation that calculates CPT (Clicks Per Thousand) or CPM (Clicks Per Million).
